Zermatt, in southern
Switzerland, is only a few hours from the Geneva and Zurich
airports. Tourists shuttle from Taesch to Zermatt. Rail and
cable excursions are available to points like Rothorn,
Gornergrat and Klein Matterhorn, home to summer
skiing.

to Gornergrat:
Ride the highest mountain railway in Europe over open
country, to the Gornergrat, a rocky ridge above the
Gorner Glacier. The sight here is one of the Alps' best,
with views of the Matterhorn, Breithorn, Monte Rosa and
the Dom, the highest Swiss mountain.
- Cableway
to Klein Matterhorn:
A spectacular trip on the highest aerial cableway in
Europe to the north face of the Klein Matterhorn (12,537
ft) with a return via Schwarzsee. New to the area is the
Klein Matterhorn snow and glacial world featuring the
highest glacier grotto (12,606 ft), snowcat rides and a
viewing platform.
